TaxFolder

  • It is a secure client portal allowing you to:

    • upload documents,
    • sign electronically, and
    • retrieve your tax returns.

  • • Yes – registration is required to upload your tax documents

  • • Security – uses SSL encryption to protect your data
    • Convenience – you can upload your tax documents any time
    • Management – you can delete and re-upload your tax documents
    • Storage – you can retrieve your Personal Tax Returns (aka T1 General) within 1 year

  • Please check your email’s Spam/Junk Folder. If you still did not receive any emails, contact us to resend the required documents.

Personal Tax

  • • The deadline is April 30, 2024 (and June 17, 2024 for self-employed)

  • • Tax payment deadline is April 30, 2024.

  • • Everybody’s tax situation is different.

    • We will not know until we prepare and complete your tax return. If everything is the same, you should expect your tax balance owing to be similar as last year.

  • • Only if your previous year’s tax owing is over $3,000.

  • Your tax instalments are based on your previous year’s tax owing. There are various ways to calculate your tax instalment.

    Here is one way: if your 2023 tax owing was $4,000, then your quarterly tax instalments for 2024 are as follows:
    March 15, 2024 - $1,000,
    June 15, 2024 - $1,000,
    September 15, 2024 - $1,000, and
    December 15, 2024 - $1,000.

  • With a December 31 reporting period,
    Filing Deadline: June 17, 2024
    Payment Deadline: April 30, 2024

  • • Your RRSP Deduction limit can be found on your latest Notice of Assessment from CRA as well as from your CRA Account online.

    • We can help you look up your RRSP deduction limit at an additional charge.

  • February 29, 2024 is the final date for RRSP contributions.

  • • Our services are based on client’s needs. Please contact us by telephone or by email for a quotation

  • • We can start preparing your tax return once we have received all your tax documents and required information.

  • • It depends on the complexity of your file – it generally takes 4 to 6 business days (or longer if during the peak tax season in March and April)

  • • You can upload your tax documents online. After completing your tax return, you will receive your tax package electronically.

  • Accepted Files:
    • PDF files
    • Word Document files (.doc or .docx)
    • Excel files (.xls or .xlsx) / CSV files (.csv)

    Files Not Accepted (please convert them into compatible formats before uploading):
    • Pages files (.pages)
    • Numbers files (.numbers)

    • Please note that there will be additional processing fees for opening and converting incompatible files and reviewing picture files (.jpeg and .png).
